PRU ke-13 : BN Tawan Kedah?

Negeri kelahiran 2 tokoh penting negara, Tunku Abd.

Dear Dukeofumno,
I do not know you.Your blog title this time is interesting.
Kedah has a majority of malay population like Kelantan.Being Malays ,Islam is always the front agenda in their struggle be it politics or their social lives. Now that PAS has taken over the state,it is quite difficult to sway the voters to BN.Unless you can find faults in the PAS administration which really make the kedahan wakes up.
As for looking for a candidate to lead BN in Kedah,I find it difficult to pinpoint one.Maybe and just maybe Mukhriz can be one of the leaders that need the guidance. But it will take at least another 2 GE for him to have a strong footing, that is of course no politicking in UMNO at state level.UMNO has come to a point of chronic, where it takes a mighty political will to undo it.For as long as UMNO presaent leaders are money spinning orientation then Kedah will be under PAS.
Look at Kelantan,I am not saying that PAS leaders are not corrupt, but they have Tok Guru to calm the voters.Looks like you have to get one of the respected Tok Guru in Kedah to stand as advisor of which its like looking a needle in a hay stack, given UMNO's reputation.

I think this is the problem with UMNO politics, they have to think very big but only to a small number of people. Let me explain...the way in which UMNO politics work is that you have to seem like you are not eagar or hungry for what you already have, jgn tunjuk belang. But at the same time you have to show your might at the micro level otherwise another warlord will take that place. In this situation it makes it very difficult for would be leaders to 'muncul' and show leadership. In Kedah at the momment the power is with Mukhriz anyone who looks like taking the lead other than him is seen as crossing that 'power hungry boundary'. This is not only applicible to local state politics but also in teh wider national level.

With respect to Kedah, well I do not see UMNO wrestling Kedah from PR until UMNO members themselves become more mature. I agree with your point about money in UMNO politics ideologies are substituted with RM and projects, this is now the norm. Whereby UMNO is governed by this the PR has basic ideologies on politics and the socio-economic ideal. Even PAS has moved from the far right-wing to market themselves more in the Centre right, sometimes even liberal bsed on this own fundermentals. But you have to give it to them they are not resting on thier laurels or are they smugging at their win. Even in the current global financial climate they are adjusting pro-avtivly rather than re-activly.

I slightly disagree with PROFIT in that UMNO does not need a Tok Guru in Kedah. Kedahans are simple not as fanatical about religion as people think, they like to think they are but they would loath to have a full PAS goverment as in Kelantan (something PAS is fully aware off, shows how cued PAS is, see). Kedah is use to leaders that make a mark bigger than the state itself people that make a mark at the national level rather than only on the local scene, Kedah's football tell the whole story.

So far Uztaz Azizan has yet to put a foot wrong and the Kedah people are bright enough to see this, even his credentials in politics struggles in upstanding his ideology has far out weighted most of the money hungry UMNO leaders. And tracking back on leaders who shine beyond the boundaries of Kedah well here is someone who is well recognised in the Islamic religions scholars in teh Middle East and Europe (even to my suprise!)

....okay have to get back to work...hope to hear more ideas from you guys....
